About Ana Maria Herrera
I am a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work explores the intertwined themes of identity, memory, and resilience. Through mixed-media assemblages and installations, I bring together materials such as aged wood, rusted metal, textiles, glass, and photography — elements marked by time and human presence. Each carries traces of the unseen, the forgotten, and the enduring.
My practice reflects on belonging and transformation, using the language of materials to reveal the emotional landscapes we share — the weight of history, the fragility of existence, and the strength that emerges from it. I seek to create spaces for empathy and contemplation, where viewers can pause and connect with what is often invisible yet deeply felt.
Beyond the studio, I engage with communities through art-making experiences that honor creativity as a collective force for healing and reflection. My goal is to create meaningful works that speak to both personal and universal dimensions of the human condition.
